What is DesignContest about?
DesignContest is a design and branding crowdsourcing platform on which professional graphic designers get to compete to offer your business the design services you are seeking. On this platform, customers are usually guaranteed that they will receive several unique designs as per their requests within a period of 7 days. All that clients have to do is to visit DesignContest’s official website and start a contest.
There are very many categories of designs for which DesignContest avails the most suitable designers to handle them, thus clients are usually assured that they will get all their design requests completed on this platform. The more than 160,000 designers available on this platform are all pre-screened by undergoing qualification testing. This is usually done to ensure that clients only have access to a pool of designers who have the necessary skill set to tackle all types of their design needs.
As a client relying on the design services offered by DesignContest, you should not be afraid of your company’s progress being exposed as you go about the design work, since there is a Non-Disclosure Agreement provided for every contest.
How to use DesignContest
DesignContest seeks to deliver the results that you so much seek, hence does not delay you or keep you waiting with long and complicated processes. In four steps, all of DesignContest’s clients usually have their desired designs delivered to them. The process followed is as below:
1. Create a contest
In this step, you are required to start a contest, and to determine the prize amount to be awarded to the winner. Starting a contest essentially entails setting up a brief of what you want to be incorporated into your design.
2. Evaluating entries
Within hours of starting your contest, designers will begin posting their entries. You can, through the client user interface, score, comment on and eliminate the entries made by the designers. Evaluating and commenting on the designs enables the refinement of the designs being offered in a bid to make you end up with the desired end product.
3. Picking a winner
Upon seeing a design that you prefer most, you should select it as the winning design, and then you close the contest. On DesignContest you are allowed to set up up to three prizes in a bid to attract more designers to your contest.
4. The transfer of Design Copyrights
The winning designers are supposed to sign the Design Copyrights Transfer documents for there to be legal proof that you are the owner of the designs created for you on this platform. It is at this juncture that the prize award is usually given to the best designer in the contest. The support team at DesignContest usually takes care of the awarding process.

I have been getting my design needs covered by Fiverr and other freelance platforms up until now but I am in need for higher-quality dedicated work right now.
I have never tried DesignContest or DesignBro but I’ll definitely have a couple of small projects completed with both of them to see which is better before assigning my main project to one of them…
Thanks for the help!

Hello John, I find your post very interesting and useful. I have never heard about Design contest before and the way how it works makes me really excited. For the designers – as per the prices provided by you – could be this platform great way how to earn money, I am also think I can join for the website design to create. So maybe I would be able to provide more feedback from the designer point of view later on, but I will see.
Anyway, thank you for this comprehensive post and I am looking to read your another “make money” websites evalution.
All the best
Renata

Thank you for the review of DesignContest. I have about given up on trying to design a logo for my business. I’ve heard a couple people mention DesignContest. I must admit. I like the “contest” idea because it sounds like an easy way for a small business to evaluate different designers and their ideas.
On the other hand, it seems like it could be frustrating for the people that are doing the designing. They are doing work without a strong chance they will actually get paid for the time put in. So, I am not sure that this is necessarily the “business model” that I want to support.
That said, I still want to check out your other recommendation.

Wow nice review on DesignContest! I’m glad to see that it’s recommended. That there are more than 160,000 designers available to you is pretty amazing. I like the whole process with this product from creating a contest to evaluating entries to picking a winner, sounds pretty fun. Copyrights are important so I appreciate you mentioning them and also for referencing an even better product in Design Bro. I’ll definitely be checking out these products further through your links here to see which one is more suitable for me, thank you!
